A Soft Starter within the Altistart family is intended to start and stop asynchronous motors supplied from 208V to 690V. Soft Starters for motors are commonly used in industrial applications that have a high inertia load that requires a large inrush of current. If applications does not require the variation of speed it is advisable to use a soft starter.
